German company Henkel and Nordson in the US have established a global alliance on new technology development for the packaging market worldwide, in a bid to provide benefits to their customers.

As part of the alliance, which focuses on increasing sustainability and minimizing impact of packagers on the environment, the companies will introduce the new Freedom System.

The system combines Nordson's Freedom Series Hot Melt Dispensing equipment with Henkel's Technomelt Freedom-certified adhesives to help customers simplify operations to maximize productivity and sustainability.

According to the precision dispensing equipment producer Nordson, the optimized combination of adhesive and equipment is in selected field tests currently and full commercial launch is expected in the first quarter of 2013.

Nordson president and chief executive officer Michael Hilton said both the companies together are positioned well to provide new solutions to meet their customers' needs and help them address industry challenges.

"The Freedom™ System is one of the many ways our combined efforts will benefit our common customers worldwide by increasing packaging efficiency and reducing cost per package sealed," Hilton said.

The system represents an integrated design effort between Henkel and Nordson, which matches next generation hot melt adhesive and advanced dispensing equipment.
